Clear immigration at MLE (visa-free, instant). Buy local SIM card in arrivals (Ooredoo or Dhiraagu, ~USD 15 for data SIM). Take the 5-min public ferry to Malé capital (MVR 3 = USD 0.20). Explore Malé: Republic Square, Grand Friday Mosque (Islamic Centre), Malé Fish Market (world's largest tuna auction — early morning is most dramatic). Afternoon: speedboat to Maafushi (public ferry USD 1 or speedboat USD 20–30). Settle in, sunset from the beach.

Morning: Snorkelling safari excursion from Maafushi — reef, coral gardens, turtles, reef sharks (~USD 25–40 pp, 3 hrs). Most guesthouses have a tour desk. Afternoon: Bikini Beach (the designated area on Maafushi where swimwear is permitted — modest dress elsewhere on local islands). Sunset dolphin cruise (~USD 30–40 pp) — Maafushi waters are known for spinner dolphin pods at dusk. Evening: vegetable curry and rice dinner at guesthouse (request vegetarian at booking).

Full-day excursion: speedboat to a private sandbank (a flat strip of white sand surrounded by turquoise water — one of the most iconic Maldives experiences). Snorkel around the sandbank, photoshoot on the sand, lunch served on board. Optional: extend to Fulidhoo (1 hr away) — the famous stingray point where wild stingrays and nurse sharks gather in shallow water near the jetty (completely free, no tour needed — just wade in). Return to Maafushi evening.

Non-divers: second snorkel trip or kayak the lagoon. Evening: traditional night fishing excursion — hand-line fishing the traditional Maldivian way with the boat crew (~USD 25 pp, ask guesthouse to arrange).

Morning speedboat transfer to chosen resort island. Most South Ari and North Malé resorts are accessible within 30–90 minutes. Check in to overwater bungalow or water villa. Afternoon: explore the resort. House reef snorkeling (most resorts have extraordinary house reefs — turtles, reef sharks, manta rays possible). Sunset from your private overwater deck. Resort dinner — inform at check-in about vegetarian requirement and the kitchen will prepare a dedicated vegetarian menu for all meals.

Full resort day. Morning: sunrise yoga (most resorts offer complimentary yoga sessions). Floating breakfast on your villa deck if available.
